We work off 30 base stitches
row 1: we work on the wrong side, *knit 2 and purl 2*, repeat from * to * 6 times and finish with knit 2
row 2: *purl 2 and knit 2*, repeat from * to * 7 times and finish with purl 2
row 3 and all following uneven rows: Work the stitches as they appear, right over right and purl over purl
row 4: *purl 2, cross stitch 2 to the right*, repeat from * to * for 7 times and finish with purl 2.
To perform a cross stitch to the right: keep 1 stitch hanging behind, knit 1, knit the hanging stitch.
Row 6, 10, 14, 18, 22, 26: knit as stated for row 2
row 8: *purl 2, cross stitch 2 to the right*, repeat from * to * for 6 times, Purl 2, knit 2 and purl 2
row 12: *purl 2, cross stitch 2 to the right*, repeat from * to * 5 time, *purl 2 and knit 2*, repeat from * to * twice and finish with purl 2
row 16: *purl 2, cross stitch 2 to the right*, repeat from * to * for 4 volte, *purl 2 and knit 2*, repeat from * to * 3 times and finish with purl 2
row 20: *purl 2, cross stitch 2 to the right*, repeat from * to * 3 times, *purl 2 and knit 2*, repeat from * to * 4 times and finish with purl 2

Carry out the given instructions. On odd rows, not shown on the diagram, work all stitches as they appear, right over right and purl over purl, work the first row as shown.
