Diamonds, knots, a tart. using your imagination you can see what you want in the pinched bars stitch. We are fond of it because the pattern is quite simple to knit and the final effect is really nice. Perfect for a Jumper or maybe a blanket. The yarn chosen for this project is Hokusai, in the colour of Saffron.

Tutorial: how to knit the pinched bars stitch

MATERIALI
Hokusai yarn col. Saffron100 g / 3.5 oz
Knitting needles n° 6 EU / 10 US

METHOD

We work off foundations stitches in multiples of 18 + 9.

Row 1: *knit 9, purl 9*, always repeat from * to * and finish by knitting 9
row 2 and a even rows: knit the stitches as they appear, right sides together, wrong sides together
row 3 and 5: knit all stitches
row 7: knit as instructed in row 1
row 9: *knit 13, 1 pattern, knit 4*, knit 9 to finish.

To knit a pattern: insert the right needle in the corresponding stitch of the ninth row below, that is, under the rib of the purl stitch, 1 yarn over the right needle and extract the buttonhole, pass the buttonhole on the left needle and knit it together with the following stitch.

row 11: *purl 9, knit 9*, purl 9 to finish
row 13 and 15: knit the stitches
row 17: knit as instructed in row 11
row 19: *knit 4, 1 pattern, knit 13*, knit 4 to finish, 1 pattern, knit 4.
row 21: repeat from row 1.

Repeat from * to * for the entire row and finish with the stitches that follow the second *. In the even rows, not shown on the diagram, knit the stitches as they appear, right sides together, wrong sides together.
