THEME OF THE CLASS
During this workshop, Eva will teach you the differences between various carded wools (different sizes, morphological characteristics, and performance during felting) and their uses. The lesson will be divided into theoretical and practical sections, during which you will experiment with different techniques of working with fibers. You will learn to work both in 2D and 3D.
The first day will concentrate on two-dimensional works. You will learn how to perfectly lay out fibers in different thicknesses, to create your favorite effects with color and to control and handle shrinkage. You will also learn to felt and/or full the fibers, exploring the various work processes that lead to the creation and use of prefelt. Small study panels will be made for each step. The day will conclude with the design and creation of a small tapestry.
The second day will focus instead on three-dimensional works. You will learn to create hollow and full structures such as pockets, raised areas and grafts. In this case as well you will create small prototypes for each step in the process. At the end of the day, you will create a bag, a container or a panel with pockets.
