THEME OF THE CLASS

The focus of this exciting and intensive workshop is in the exploration of innovative techniques and materials, creation of various surfaces, dramatic textures and gorgeous effects introduced in the Sea States exhibition.

Katia will have a large display of samples for inspiration and will demonstrate a variety of techniques that can be used in surface design inspired by the natural world. Participants will explore and understand use of fibers other than wool, available at DHG shop: ramie, flax, hemp etc., and learn how the inclusion of plant fibers can add flexibility to felted textile, and help to sculpt tree-dimensional felt surfaces. Hand stitching can be added to emphasize texture and add further surface decoration.

We will work on a series of experimental pieces to create a portfolio of samples. The emphasis in this class will be on experimentation and personal growth. Suitable for all levels.

Date: Friday, February 24th, Saturday, February 25th (duration two days)

Time: from 9.30 to 17.30, including lunch and coffee breaks.

Location: DHG, Via Panconi 15/17 – 59100 Prato

Max Number of Participants: 10.

Difficulty: all levels

Price per person: 295 EURO including 2 light lunches.

The course must be payed for in advance. Registration will not be considered complete until full payment is received.

If you are unable to attend, you will be reimbursed as follows:

• Within 1 month – 50%
• After this point, no reimbursement will be given unless DHG is able to sell the open space.

The materials required for the course are not included in the price of the course and will be sent to you via email once registration is complete.

The cost of food, lodging and transportation costs are at the complete expense of the client, as well as any other expenses that are not expressly declared as INCLUDED in the cost of the course.
