Baratti is an essential yarn in construction but sophisticated in performance, made of 100 percent cotton to ensure clean lines, stability and a cool, dry hand. The choice of cotton as the only fiber gives the yarn a regular and uniform structure, ideal for precise work and projects that require stitch definition and wear resistance. Its multi-ply twist creates a balance between softness and tightness, allowing the yarn to flow smoothly during processing and maintain a stable shape over time. This construction makes it particularly suitable for both summer garments and accessories and textile items intended for everyday use. In addition, pure cotton ensures breathability and comfort, characteristics typical of quality plant fibers. Baratti is thus a yarn that works on precision and functionality, with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

The raw materials used in DHG's yarns are selected and purchased from areas of the world where each specific fiber expresses the best natural and performance qualities. Depending on the type, the fibers come from vocated and traditionally specialized regions, chosen to ensure high standards of purity, fineness and textile performance.
Once selected, the fibers enter a transformation process that combines technical expertise and craftsmanship savoir-faire. In fact, yarns such as Baratti are made through a careful twisting process, largely carried out with a still strongly artisanal approach in the textile district of Prato, a historic international center for fiber processing.
This balance between global sourcing and local processing allows the characteristics of each fiber to be maximized, resulting in yarns that combine quality, identity and manufacturing tradition.
With knitting needles, the fact that it is not twisted is an advantage because it produces regular, well-knit stitches, as if to form a regular jersey fabric. The stitches flow well on the iron without danger of slipping. In stitches, shirred knitting offers the great advantage of maintaining a correct, linear shape throughout the work, with edges that remain straight and well aligned. Any patterns that vary the stitch are clearly noticeable on the regular surface: fretwork, but also simple increases and decreases. Light motifs of little relief are recommended because intricate weaves and large stitches make heavy work.
Withcrochet, it offers a flawless result but one must work carefully because the hook tends to get in between the ends of the untwisted yarn. In addition to low stitch and its variations, higher stitches, up to triples, can be worked. Ideal for filet and other types of net.
Tips for working and care.

Our colors generally have high light fastness and wash fastness. Exceptions are fluorescent colors, which have low light fastness and may release color in the presence of alkaline or harsh soaps and with prolonged washing. The same applies to dark, bright colors. In all these cases, it is essential to test a small sample before starting the project, especially if these materials are combined with raw or light-colored fibers. In any case, it is always a good idea to dry artifacts away from direct sunlight, preferably in semi-shade.
A practical tip: Buying balls or spools of different baths can cause what is known as the barred effect: subtle variations in shade that seem invisible when comparing balls and spools, but become apparent once worked. Therefore, always be sure to buy some yarn in excess of what is needed for your project. We will be sure to send you spools and balls of the same lot.
